1. MATTHEW...a mother becomes part of a task force to present programs to students and parents about alcohol related issues after the death of her son. 2. MICHAEL...One son is murdered and a mother is now helping others in the organization Parents of Murdered Children. 3 DAVE...a father watches his son die from cancer and learns the true meaning of courage. He also becomes very active in The Compassionate Friends organization. 4. JENNAFER...a parent speaks to Victim Impact Groups about being responsible drivers. She believes it is only through education about the consequences that we can help these people. 5. SHERYL...a daughter dies from the stomach flu. It turns out to be Salmonella poisoning. Through her death, her mother is comforted knowing many lives have been saved. 6. CRAIG...a mother unsuccessfully deals with her son's schizophrenia before his death from a self-inflicted gun shot. She now works for the Mental Health Association and tries to educate people so they don't feel the shame and stigma usually attached to mental illness. 7. DUSTY AND AFTON...parents must deal with the death of two children in one accident. Their faith, an organization for those who lose all their children, Alive Alone, and the adoption of a Korean child helps them. 8. STACY...a combination of birth defects has a frantic mother continually searching for answers as she watches her child die in pain while learning the lessons of unconditional love. 9. AARON...a mother is torn apart by guilt when her son dies at a wilderness survival camp she forced him to go to because of his drug and related problems. She made a judgment call, but at the time it was all she knew to do. 10. JOHN...doing volunteer work and helping out an AIDS organization keeps this mother going after her son dies from the disease.
And 15 additional stories of hope, courage and survival techniques from brave parents who have suffered the loss of a child or all their children.
